Student exchange program between Vietnam University of Commerce and Solbridge International Business School under Woosong University

On the occasion of the new academic year 2014 – 2015, VUC and Solbridge International Business School under Woosong University, South Korea, held a student exchange program from 11th to 15th August 2014 in Hanoi.

Every semester, students of Solbridge International Business school participate in the contest “Asia Business Cases and Market Research”. The real cases from Asian companies will be taken in for students to analyze in teams under the lecturers’ guidance. Talented teams will be selected to the final round and the prize is a studying trip to Vietnam to broaden knowledge and awareness of economy and culture of Asian countries.
Participating in the exchange program held in Hanoi, students had opportunities to discover the beauty of the capital and enjoy traditional food of Vietnam.

Particularly, students of the two universities had a studying visit to one of Vietnam’s leading industrial groups located in Tu Liem industrial zone -  Ha Yen group, which produces and supplies industrial cookers and laundry services with products highly oriented towards market demand. In this group, students were introduced to some production stages of gas cookers. They also got to know about the group’s establishment and development history. Lessons on domestic business and market entry to Japan and Singapore were shared by the group’s leaders to the visiting students.
During their time in Hanoi, students from Solbridge also participated in many cultural exchange activities with VUC’s students. Korean students had a chance to witness the beauty of Vietnam traditional ‘ao dai’ in the national costume show and enjoy many songs about Vietnam country and people performed by VUC fellow students.
One important activity among others under the framework of the exchange program between VUC and Solbridge is 10 talented students of the two universities worked in teams to exchange opinions on a business case study of a Vietnam-based foreign university. The discussions of the 2 teams were highly appreciated by Jury boards representing the two universities. Students participating in this program were granted Certificates and scholarships worth 40% - 50% tuition fees in Solbridge International Business School.
In the 5 days of exchange in Hanoi, students from the two universities had opportunities to learn about culture, education and share their experience in study and research. The exchange program ended but it has left many sweet memories to students as well as marked the sustainable cooperation between VUC and Woosong, South Korea.
